What should you include in your permission request?
Your request should be as complete as possible. We will need to know the exact material you wish to reprint. Please provide copies of our material in context as it currently appears and in detail the manner in which you wish permission to use.

Please let us know what territories you need permission for (US, US and Canada, world, etc.). You may include any other information that you feel may be helpful in evaluating your request.

Incomplete requests will not be processed and will be ignored or returned to the requester for more information.

How long does it take to process a permission request?
It will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks for you to receive a written response to your request. This time frame may vary depending on the amount of requests we have to process. Therefore, we ask you to submit your request for permission as early in your editorial process as possible. You may follow-up on your requests no sooner than 3 weeks after our receipt of your request.

Will there be a fee?
Each request received by the department is evaluated on an individual basis and in most cases a permission fee is not charged. No fees will be discussed prior to permission being granted.
